Up to half of the book - I found it a bit slow, and with very predictable dialogues. But as I continued reading - once again I was convinced that Thomas H. Cook is a writer - a master in a drama that combines psychology and suspense, despite many, how shall I put it more precisely, - whimsical expressions. This author has leitmotif in his books - evil, which according to author, can manifest not only in direct violence, but be hidden in each human beings, and could come out in different ways, which would affect the lives of others in a very negative outcome, sometimes fatal.
