I found that it was almost impossible to make any real sense out of this over-long, CGI saturated, Sci-Fi klunker._____ Here in "Chronicles" Vin Diesel, once again (ho-hum!), reprises his predictable "bad-ass" schtick as the unsurprising Riddick character, a man who (no matter how challenging the situation) is just a little too sure of himself on all levels._____ With plenty of laughable dialogue, tedious personal dramas, asinine plot-line politics and terrible character interaction, "Chronicles" never failed to get itself more and more bogged down by its stupidity and incoherency with every passing minute._____ From its dumb "Necromonger" head-gear, to its completely cardboard villains, to its corny and cliched ending, to its unbearably over-long running time - "Chronicles" took the ultimate WTF-prize with the preposterousness of Aereon (Judi Dench's character), a completely useless fairy godmother-type, who blankly looks on and does nothing while Riddick gets his ass royally kicked for about the umpteenth time._____ This film's budget was $105 million. On top of his "producer's" fee, Vin Diesel was also paid $11 million to play, pretty much, himself.
