This book was just disappointing, and if you're looking for a gripping page-turner, look elsewhere. I adore the original three books of the Millennium series and until this book I've enjoyed the reboot by David Lagercrantz, but this book just felt uninspired. The storyline seems to be forcing drama instead of just letting it build naturally from a solid mystery, and the ending is unsatisfying and uninteresting. I also resent that Erika Berger has morphed from her well-developed, nuanced role in the original trilogy to barely a footnote - so why include the fact that suddenly she's getting a divorce when she's only going to be mentioned in a total of three pages of the rest of the book, with no story of why she and her husband are splitting? I'll keep reading the series, but I hope the next one shows more effort.
