Of course, it goes without saying that, during the very height of the disco craze of the late-1970's, the Bee Gees were, unquestionably, one of the most commercially and critically successful musical acts of their day. But, to be sure, there was certainly a whole lot more to the Bee Gees' singing/song-writing abilities than just churning out a string of up-tempo, foot-stompin' disco tunes. This "Best Of" CD definitely attests to the fact, as the tracks on this disc cover a full 20 years of the Bee Gees' career from 1967-1987. Headlined by the singing, song-writing talents of the Gibb brothers, Barry, Robin and Maurice (who originated from Manchester, England), the Bee Gees' records, to date, have sold over 250 million copies, worldwide. This "Greatest Hits" compilation contains 21 tracks in all. 2 of my favourite tunes are - Nights On Broadway (*watch video*) and You Should Be Dancing. *Note* - In 2003, Maurice Gibb died at the age of 54. And in 2012, brother, Robin died at the age of 63, leaving Barry as the only surviving member of this trio.
