Before you judge me, there are two things you should know about why I did it.

Shana Tremain is a good kid. She knows right from wrong and she's never been in any serious trouble. But when her best friend, Carrie, comes to her for help, Shana agrees to break the law to save Carrie from a molester. She even feels good about it for a while.

Then trouble starts. Someone in their group of friends is stealing from the others. As she searches for the truth, Shana uncovers evidence that raises a terrifying question: Has she made a horrible mistake?

Faced with the reality of what she's done, Shana finds herself trapped in a web of her own lies and deceit. Can she convince the right people that she's telling the truth now? Either way it's clear someone is going to pay a terrible price for her crime.

Strong beginning! Detailed in many different ways and was a really suspenseful read!

I thought this was an amazing book. The non-stop mystery made it confusing, but fun to read. By the end of the book, it was totally different than what I thought it would be. Loved it!

This short teen novel is about a teen, Shana, who is just trying to be a good friend. Her best friend Carrie confided in her that her new stepfather was abusing her, but she needed help to prove it. Shana was so upset about this and convinced by Carrie's emotional confession that she agreed to testify in court that she had seen him touch Carrie inappropriately, even though she hadn't seen anything.
Afterward, when Hayley, another friend in their group, is accused of stealing by Carrie, Shana begins to wonder. She talks to Hayley, and begins to question Carrie, but is confused and upset by what she discovers. She decides to come clean about her perjury, but has she just put herself in danger?
This is a very interesting story that encompasses a few issues. One of them is the nature of truth and how one person can tell lies so often she actually starts believing them herself. Another is the power of gossip and innuendo, and how that can destroy a reputation so easily. A third is about social media and how careful one has to be about what one reads and believes.
A really good read.

I didn't really like this book, because it was supposed to be fiction, but it was to unrealistic so not many people can relate to the characters in the book. Also, it was really short and if it was longer, the author could have added more details to make the book more interesting.

This book was a very fast-paced crime novel and was very short. I think that the author, Valerie Sherrard could have slowed the ending down and given more detail. Also, I felt bad for Joe Kelward since he never did anything bad to Carrie and he was sent to jail.

I really disliked Testify. It was kind of disturbing and really had no story line to me. It was really short and could've used a LOT more detail to make it a better book. It was really obvious how it was going to end and I didn't see it as a mystery at all. I don't believe this book is good enough to be nominated for this award...

This is a great book that doesn't end how you think it will!

I really thought this was good book. The non-stop mystery was riveting and I couldn't put it down. I could never believe how much one person could lie. The only thing I didn't like was that is was kind of unrealistic. A teenage girl had a spy cam in her teddy bear? Other than that it was an amazing book!!!

I thought that this was a very good book! It was so interesting and very original. I never would have thought of any thing like this and I really liked the end when Carrie went all psycho crazy. The situation Shana was in was very difficult and I felt bad for her friends when everyone turned on them. But the extremes Carrie went to, to get rid of her step father were completely and utterly insane. It was very original and I enjoyed it a lot.
