a chance to see Chris Pine as a bad boy. So-so movie. The characters are not especially strong, nor is the story line.

Being fore-warned (by these reviews) that it is 'character-under-stress', rather than CGI 'action', helped me to enjoy this film on its own considerable merits.

Just to slow could have been much better

Veeeeery slow, character-driven movie. Unfortunately, you're not drawn in enough to really care specifically for any of them and the movie just sort of rambles to the expected not so happy ending.

Carriers is a low budget sci-fi movie that fails to deliver a good story. There is a pandemic that is killing humans but there is no explanation of its origin or worldwide effect. Rather it focuses on four people and their journey to a possible safe haven. The group runs into a few deserted towns and survivors and also plenty of dead or dying. Overall the movie is not very well written or all that believable.

This was an above average "infected" post apocalyptic thriller. Very well acted and the setting was done well also. Not zombies running around or anything like that. Rather a small group of young people doing whatever they have to do to survive and get to where they are trying to go. Might not have enough action for some, but I was entertained throughout.

This depressing sci-fi film with a competent young cast shows ordinary people brutalizing one another in an effort to survive a fatal pandemic. Worth watching once for its performances. As Joseph already mentioned, it also raises some far-fetched questions about ethical versus biological imperatives.

Good - Carriers (2009) 84 min. Shortly after Star Trek was released, Chris Pine appeared in a post-apocalyptic film about the effects of a deadly pandemic that kills most of the population. The film takes place a few months after most are infected and either dead or dying. This survival film works on many levels – the pace, the dialogue and the imagery keep this one fresh and interesting. Themes of how far one should go to survive is explored in this well-made film.
