My comments refer ONLY to the DVD that deals with Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands, with Justine Shapiro as the intrepid traveler. JS is my favourite in the Globe Trekker series. Unlike too many of her colleagues, she speaks quite good French and Spanish, so her interactions with the locals in francophone Africa and hispanophone Latin America are much more in-depth and interactive than the monolingual backpackers who skate over the surface in countries where they do not speak anything of the local language. JS is very brave in her willingness to sample some of the unhygienically prepared food she is offered. She so obviously enjoys herself, riding the roof of a train, or diving off the sailing ship in the Galapagos.
