Perhaps the last hurrah of the Swingin' 60s and at the very least one of the most important proto-punk albums ever recorded, Who's Next shoots and shocks like a supernatural bolt of adrenalized lightning directed at the flux capacitor of your soul.
British rockers, The Who (along with Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd) are considered, by many, to be one of the most influential rock bands of the 20th Century. And "Who's Next" (by The Who) is considered to be one of the best 100 albums of all-time.
Released in 1971 - "Who's Next" (an impressive follow-up to 1969's Tommy) was an immediate best-seller on both sides of the Atlantic, going platinum in record time.
Containing all 9 original tracks (plus 7 bonus tracks, recorded live), these tunes were all written principally by Pete Townsend. "Who's Next" would be The Who's 4th studio album. 3 of my favorite tracks on this CD are - Baba O'Riley, Won't Get Fooled Again and Bargain.
To date, only 2 of the original members of The Who still remain alive, (guitarist) Pete Townsend and (vocalist) Roger Daltrey. Drummer, Keith Moon died in 1978 and bassist, John Entwistle died in 2002.
