A powerful and easy to read non-fiction book about the FLDS. After reading this I have lot of respect for Brent. This book is so well written that I felt like I was living his life with him. Highly recommended if you're interested in this subject.

This absorbing, sometimes harrowing memoir recounts the life of a boy born into a fundamentalist Mormon sect. His candid observations provide a window into a strange world of polygamy, unquestioned obedience, corruption stemming from absolute power and the nature of fundamentalism itself. Jeffs’ journey out of this restrictive world is a page-turner that illuminates a central theme of the 21st century – conflict based in religious belief.

Very interesting read about the abuse of power and children within the FLDS community. I was shocked to find out some of the things that were forced upon the community by Warren Jeffs.

A chilling story.
