Five properties located 22 kilometres west of Taber will be getting their water from Lethbridge. City council approved a request Tuesday to supply drinking water to the properties, which are just a stone's throw across the boundary between the MD of Taber and County of Lethbridge. The city provides water to several areas in the County of Lethbridge through an agreement with the County of Lethbridge Rural Water Users Association. The county has also requested approval to connect an additional 77 rural properties to the rural water system, a request that can be authorized by city manager Bryan Horrocks. But because a request was received to provide water to five properties outside the county, council approval was required," Horrocks said.
