Time is 1920's, setting is England. A verbally abusive husband berates his wife in front of guests and at end of weekend is found by his wife and a guest dead in the garden. He was poisoned by wife's photo developing chemicals. She is arrested for murder, but acquitted. Years later, her step-great niece finds her journals after the aunt's death and sets out to find the truth, did Diana kill her husband? The niece inherits the house and decides if she thinks aunt is guilty, she will sell house and give money to charity.
