I saw this movie in '78, in New York, at the Loew's 83rd, Christmas-time. Walking in at the end of the previous showing, seeing the starfield and end credits against John William's "Can You Read My Mind", hearing it for the first time, I simply and spontaneously been to weep. I was expecting to get in and get out and dismiss this thing as drek. My mind was changed by that moment before I'd seen any of the rest. Henry Cavill, get out of my mind!

I love this film for the whole 40 minutes devoted to introducing the character. It takes a good long time doing this, but I think it's the best part of the film. The music, of course is also great. One of my favorite soundtracks. I gave a point off for the ridiculous stuff in the last...15 minutes or so.

This movie was worth the time it took to watch it. It was a little slow though. Besides the brief taking of Our LORD's name in vain, it is worth a watch.

I first saw Superman the Movie when it premiered at the Capital Theatre in 1978, and was as awed then, as I am today by this terrific and monumental big scale motion picture. Christopher Reeve was and is to date, the most true to life portrayal of the character of Superman. Gene Hackman brought a comic flair to his Lex Luthor. There are so many great moments in this movie to list, but if you want to see a comic book adaptation done right, look no further than this film. Classic and timeless.

The greatest superhero movie of all time still holds up as amazing today. Not as flashy as the recently released Man of Steel but still a great movie.

For me, there will be no other than can take away the Clark Kent/Superman role from Christopher Reeve.
