Best iron man movie yet! Robert Downey Jr. really knows how to make a on the edge of your seat kind of movie.

“You know, and thank you, by the way, for listening. But something about just getting it off my chest and putting it out there in the atmosphere instead of holding this in. I mean, this is what gets people sick, you know. Wow. I had no idea you were such a good listener. To be able to share all my intimate thoughts, my experiences with someone, it just cuts the weight of it in half, you know. It’s like a snake swallowing its own tail. Everything comes full circle. And—and the fact that you’ve been able to help me process….” As “a famous man once said, ‘We create our own demons.’ Who said that? What does that even mean? Didn’t matter. I said it ‘cause he said it. So now, he was famous and it was basically said by two well-known guys. I don’t… uhh… I’m gonna start again. Let’s track this from the beginning.” Yup. “Blow somethin’ up? I already did that. I’m not saying that the world is enjoying its longest period of uninterrupted peace in years because of me. I’m not saying… that from the ashes of captivity… never has a greater Phoenix metaphor been personified in human history. I’m not saying that Uncle Sam can kick back on a lawn chair, sippin’ on an iced tea, because I haven’t come across anyone who’s man enough to go toe to toe with me on my best day. Please… It’s not about me. It’s not about… you. It’s not even about us, it’s about legacy. It’s about what we choose to leave behind for future generations and that’s why, for the next year and for the first time since 1974, the best and brightest men and women of nations and corporations the world over will pool their resources, share their collective vision to leave behind a brighter future. It’s not about us! Therefore what I am saying, if I’m saying anything,” is… “‘is it better to be feared or respected?’ I say, is it too much to ask for both? With that in mind I humbly present you the crown jewel of Stark Industries’ Freedom Line. It’s the first missile system to incorporate the latest in proprietary Repulsor Technology. They say that the best weapon is the one that you never have to fire. I respectfully disagree. I prefer the weapon you only have to fire once. That’s how Dad did it, that’s how America does it…and it’s worked out pretty well so far. Find an excuse to let one of these off the chain, and I personally guarantee you the bad guys won’t even want to come out of their caves.” (Massive explosion occurs.) “And so, as Christmas morning began, my journey was at its end. You start with something pure. Something exciting. Then come the mistakes, the compromises. We create our own demons. As promised, I got Pepper sorted out. Took a little tinkering. But then I thought ‘why stop there?’ Of course there are people who say progress is dangerous, but then I bet none of those idiots ever had to live with a chest full of shrapnel. And now, neither will I. Let me tell you: that was the best sleep I’d had in years. So if I were to wrap this up tight with a bow or whatever, I guess I’d say my armor, it was never a distraction or a hobby, it was a cocoon. And now, I’m a changed man. You can take away my house, all my tricks and toys. One thing you can’t take away... I am Iron Man.” And “you know, and thank you, by the way, for listening. But something about just getting it off my chest and putting it out there in the atmosphere instead of holding this in…”

By far my least favorite marvel movie to date. It's slow, convoluted, and is just trying too hard. I will admit that there are some funny parts in it and some moments where I was actually entertained, but overall I was not impressed and have no intention of rewatching it anytime soon. Very glad I didn't pay to see it in theaters.

While the Mandarin reveal is a little shocking, I still find it an enjoyable movie. Robert Downy Jr. shines as Stark and the after effects of the Avengers are well done. The final battle is wonderful fun. A good MCU film that works well enough to be a good ride.

Forgetable, still a good movie. Just not good comparable to the rest of the MCU. reginator is right, Mandarin would have been great to keep as a future and legitimate villain.

I thought this movie was a little better than Iron Man 2. Wished they kept the Mandarin as a legit villain. Oh well!?!

Happy Hogan (skyping to Tony about about Aldrich Killian and his henchman): "...There's a giant brain, there's a shifty character -- I'm gonna follow this guy. I'm gonna run his plates, and I'm gonna... y'know, if it gets rough, so be it." Tony Stark: "I miss ya, Happy." Happy Hogan: "I miss you too. But the way it used to be. Now you're off with the "Super-Friends"; I don't know what's going on with you anymore."

(After Tony Stark has ignited a flammable container in a restaurant, which Brandt, impervious to the flames, walks right through) Stark: "You walked right into this one -- I've dated hotter chicks than you." Brandt: "...That's all you got? A cheap trick and a cheesy one-liner?" Tony Stark: "Sweetheart, that could be the name of my autobiography." (Tony bolts as the camera pans to a set of dog-tags getting microwaved near a wide-open natural gas line)
