If this movie wasnt so great then why is the waiting list soooo long... All i see is boomers and Karens commenting negatively in the comment section because theyre too prude.

Of course a movie like this would be divisive. Don't let grumpy haters turn you away. This movie is a gem. It's a fun story about strippers, crime, and most of all friendship. Jennifer Lopez and Constance Wu are delightful, and appearances by Lizzo and Cardi B are definitely charming.

Hard to watch, awful.

I agree with other commentators. If this is movie is about female empowerment, then we are really in trouble. There are no sympathetic characters in this movie just variations on criminality. Mothers do not let your daughters see this.

Oh my.
Even my wife couldn't say she liked this disaster.
What were they thinking? Some true stories just do not make good screenplays!
And 'Oscar buzz'? Seriously? For what?

What a HUGE disappointment! Dull with a capital Dee You Ell Ell. I waited over a month to see this and was rewarded with a steaming heap. Take warning all of you out there in library-land: no matter how bad you think you want to see this movie, you DON'T want to see this movie.

J Lo quote re Super Bowl 2020 half time show: Lopez also reiterated the importance of female role models in this Super Bowl. “The two teams that are playing are run by women,” she reminded us, likely referring to 49ers coach Katie Sowers and Norma Hunt, the matriarch of the Chiefs, “and then you’ve got two women headlining the halftime show. That statement alone for me is empowering. When I think of my daughter and all the little girls of the world to be able to have that to see two Latinas doing that in this country at this time, it’s very empowering for us.”
She can say this after starring in this movie?! This movie is a disgrace.

Why was this movie raved about by critics....My wife and I fell asleep in the first 45 minutes and woke up saying that was awful!

👯‍♀️👯‍♀️👯‍♀️ Sounds like Showgirls II.

This movie basically tries to tell us that two wrongs make a right. Everybody involved, both men and women, need to look inward and wonder what they can do to make some positive improvements to their character.

Ramona: "Motherhood is a mental illness."

Title cards at the end:

Destiny (real person named Roselyn Keo, Cambodian refugee parents) pled guilty to grand larceny and attempted assault in exchange for zero jail time.

Ramona (real person named Samantha Barbash) was sentenced to five years probation.

Mercedes and Annabelle served weekends in jail for four months and received five years probation.
Look, there's nothing I can really say to make sense of what went down. But everybody's hustling. This city... Fxck, this whole country is a strip club. You got people tossing the money... and people doing the dance.
You're new. You're fxcking gorgeous. You're Asian. It's like a triple threat.
It's ketamine and MDMA. The ketamine wipes their memory, the MDMA makes 'em happy.
