The Inn at Gloucester stands alone on the rocky shoreline. Its seclusion suits former Boston police detective Bill Robinson, novice owner and innkeeper. Then Mitchell Cline arrives, with a deadly new way of doing business. His crew of local killers break laws, deal drugs, and bring violence to the front door of the Inn. Teaming up with Sheriff Spears and two fearless residents, Robinson begins a risky defense. The solitary inhabitants of the Inn will have to learn, before time runs out, that their only choice is between standing together - or dying alone. Print run 500,000.

Not one of best or even better books. There are just some books I wish JP would not endorse. But as in all JPs books I finished it out of respect for James.

Boring as all get out. Not your typical JP book. Didn't even get 1/2 way done before I just quit and returned! He is just having way to many co-authors, just to get his name on another book. Not the books he has previously put out with his name on them.

I did not enjoy this novel as well as other James Patterson books. There was not a character to root for or to really like.

Boston police decetive Bill Robinson is the owner and inndeeper in Gloucester. A dozen residents pay their rent along with the sheriff Clayton Spears. Then Mitchell Cline arrives with a crew of local killers that break laws, deal drugs, and deliver violence to the doors of the inn. Teaming up with the sheriff and two fearless residents-army veteran Nick Jones and groundkeeper Effie Johnson-Robinson begins a risky defense. Great book

It started off slow, but once I got into it I enjoyed the book in its entirety

I tried but couldn't get through it. Too many characters, slow plot. It is time for Patterson to go back to his beginnings and write his own works.

They story line was way too scattered for me. And with weird characters all over the place, I gave up after 80 pages or so.

Not really the best

Definitively geared to the YA set. Started out good with first chapter then went stupid. Could not make it even half way.

I note that Pattersonis again is co-writing with another author. ( You have to look carefully to see her name on the cover!) I find the practice deceitful and the quality of writing inferior. Seems greedy as well.
