Experience fifteen years in the life of seminal British artist Ralph Steadman, whose surreal, often confrontational artwork is frequently associated with Gonzo journalist Hunter S. Thompson (Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas). Through Johnny Depp's lead in this intimate portrait, we are able to reach the heart of what makes this artist tick, his friendships and fallings out, his love for art and his passion for civil liberties.

JOHNY DEPP. If u like art ull like this

My stars are only for Steadman and it should be seen just for the sake of that. He deserved so much better. Depp should have left his chronically pretentious presence out of it & the music was horrendously intolerable. I wish the same people who made "Beauty is Embarrassing" (about the artist Wayne White) made this. It could have been glorious.

I like Ralph Steadman's artwork, but I have to admit this documentary was a little boring at times.

This seemed like a poor documentary about a very talented artist. Far to much animation, bad music, Hunter Thompson, and Johnny Depp. Watching Ralph Steadman work and the display of his past work was fascinating, but come on Johnny, the movie isn't about you.

A wonderful look at Steadman's life and, more interesting to me, his process. It's a well done portrait of the prolific artist that leaves you with a desire to find and view more of his work.

A documentary portrait of one of the most interesting and talented artists who ever lived.

Strange that the movie never mentions the iconic illustrations he did for Pink Floyds "The Wall".

Steadman's heart is in the right place but his gift as an illustrator is haunting and strongly moving.

I am glad I viewed this, and salute our great library for possessing a copy. High art.
