"The Smurfs Christmas" is a graphic novel filled with six stories related to Christmas and winter times (along with a random story about an ogre that's just there for some reason.) The first tale sees the Smurfs trying to help a poor boy and his sick mother as Gargamel takes advantage of an ill Santa Claus in his quest to capture the Smurfs. The final story kind of flips the script when Santa asks Gargamel to deliver presents to the Smurfs so he himself can receive a present despite another year of being on the naughty list. In between, we get a story about tiny snowmen who were built by the Smurfs and are trying to migrate to avoid melting in the sun while another tale centers on a fairy who had been turned into a tiny, living pine tree. You'll also get a lesson on why it's best to leave hibernating animals to themselves. Of course, that off-theme ogre story is in there as well. Each adventure is a quick and fun read for the holiday season. These Smurf-sized morsels are a great way to read together as a family each night on the week leading up to Christmas Day (even the ogre story.)
