What will it mean when most of us can afford to have the information in our DNA, all six billion chemical letters of it, read, stored and available for analysis? This program reveals that we stand on the verge of such a revolution. Meet a cancer patient who appears to have cheated death and a cystic fibrosis sufferer breathing easily because scientists have been able to pinpoint and neutralize the genetic abnormalities underlying their conditions.

All it really does is profile a case or two of kids with diseases which they hope genetic testing will help them identify and/or treat. There's so many other factors you have to know in order to make it worthwhile so that's pointless. Then it talks about how results among tests can vary and how they really don't prove anything. There are apparently only 200 actionable conditions/diseases you can possibly address but the film never gives a list and I couldn't find one. I'm shocked they never mention epigenetics. What they're alluding to and we all want to know about are epigenetics! As in, can you change what your genetics dictate will happen and evolve so to speak. Interested? You may enjoy the film What Darwin Never Knew.

Better than I expected. They look at the accuracy of private saliva-swab DNA tests (or inconsistencies) as well as diseases that are being addressed by DNA testing.
