Beside showing cute graphics, kid utensils , kids lunchboxes and nice presentation of the foods, there is not much to this cookbook. I am converting my family to paleo and I borrowed this book to find paleo dishes that my 5 yrs old would eat. Well, there are not a whole lot in the book that a small child would go for. Fried brussel sprout by itself? Or salmon salad with capers ? Or curried mussels? These are not that something a kid would eat by my experience. Maybe after the child is on paleo for a long long time, but by then the child would eat any paleo stuff so you do not need a cookbook for kids anyway. There is an extensive dessert section of the book like Ice cream, cookies, cupcakes etc . Of course these are appealing to kids, but that is not the challenge for paleo parents. The nonnompaleo or paleomom websites have way more recipes that kids would actually eat. Or any Sarah Fragoso Paleo cookbooks are better than this. I am glad I just borrowed this book and didn't spend money on it.

I give 3 stars, because the organization of the book is great, and I showing the allergens on the side is very neat idea. However the recipes, excluding the desserts, are just meh.

The first recipe I tried was the coleslaw. Fortunately I realized that you either have to reduce the amount of salt or rinse the salt off before draining. Made as written I suspect it would be inedible. Next I made the Chocolate Chip Cookies, which were excellent, although I used 2 teaspoons of vanilla instead of the 2 tablespoons written. With errors in the first two recipes I tried I didn't investigate the book much further. However if you or your family need to avoid certain allergens this may still be a good resource for you.
