I just finished this book in November 2022. Katherine and her ladies somewhat resemble the bachelorettes of Bachelor in Paradise while Henry reminds me of someone else, a man who did not like bad news. However, Henry had more power than…

Philippa Gregory has a excellent command of the historical era and time period. She really brings to life the various Queens and woman during those dark decades. They had no say and were nothing more than cheap goods bought, sold or…

Brilliant book. My only complaints being it was pretty slow moving and a few chapters could definitely have been eliminated and it wouldn't have made a shred of difference. But overall, brilliant story, fantastic research, amazing writer.…

Fantastic!! Make sure to read "The Other Boleyn Girl" first and you'll know everything thats going on. If you like historical fiction, you'll enjoy this.
Gregory's book, one of historical fiction is set in England during the tumultuous time of Henry VIII. The novel is a story about many things, chief among them being fear.
Henry, having disposed of his first three wives, sends for Anne of…

I find this an Interesting way of setting up the format for this book.
Individual chapters for each character, place and date and proceeding by this method to tell an interesting story from history.

Another fascinating book by Philippa Gregory. This book tells the story of Jane Boleyn, George's wife and sister-in-law to Anne, as well as the unfortunate tale of Anne of Cleves and Kitty Howard, wives number four and five to Henry VIII.

A very good follow-up to the "Other Boleyn Girl" explaining what happens after Anne Boleyn's execution. I found it to be more enjoyable than "The Other Boleyn Girl" (it's more fast-paced) and liked the three different point of views the…

Glad I read it to finish (the Henry VIII series) but felt that it was written just to finish it off - the characters weren't that likeable and I glossed over the pages as it rambled.
The three characters portrayed in this book really came alive. I was afraid that the book might be stuffy, but it was far from it. This book was a lot of fun to read; highly entertaining!
If you like historical fiction you will like this book. It seems like there are so many books about KIng Henry and his first two wives but then what?? This gives us a good chunk of
I did enjoy this one. Poor Katherine Howard. She didn't live a long life at all. I was rooting for her ..... Reading Philippa's historical fiction always leave me wanting more.
