I found this book to be insightful and thought provoking. It is well written in a true Jodi Picoult style.

This was a serious novel - not a summer beach read!

Woah. This was a great read! I loved the twists and turns that the book took, especially given the ties to the Amish community. Again--Picoult always does her research so it's interesting to learn a few facts along the way. The ending was…

Once again, we are invited into the hearts and minds of people with whom we would never have become so well acquainted had Jodi Picoult not done her research so well, and had she not led us to see and feel how the situation is viewed by…

Another excellent book by Picoult. Lots of background information on the Amish way of life. The ending came as a surprise for me, although, based on their culture and religion, it should not have. The cultures that give the Male the…

Although many of her books seem similar, this one was different because there was no 'disease of the week." Picoult has a nice writing style, but I could see some would think it'snot very exciting.

I liked this book, even though it was very slow. There are a lot of philosophical sentences in here that were very deep and meaningful. I was very undecided for most of the book if Katie was guilty or not. I liked Ellie, but I kept…

Not a bad book. I enjoyed the look into the Amish way of life and how they live. As I was reading I felt that I had read it before, but couldn't remember how it ended. I wonder if the jury would have found her guilty or not since they were…

One of Picoult's best works, by my estimate. I learned a great deal about life in an Amish community, reading this book. This was a heart-wrenching and thought-provoking read.

I think this was one of Jodi Picoult's best novels. Really descriptive, well thought out, and the story line was so original. Wonderful book. A little disturbing at the ending though.
