This is a sort of 19th century version of The Amazing Race. Wonderful little tidbits of colourful history and plenty of misadventure made this a fun and interesting read. For those who enjoy listening, the audio book was really well done.

Charming tale of a stuffy Englishman travelling around the world after a wager from members of his men's club. Adapted (somewhat successfully I think) to film in 1956 starring David Niven as Phileas Fogg. Avoid the 1989 version with Pierce…
