Didn't take long to figure out someone else killed the girl. So many lies, so much deceit. Did not care much for this book.

I will not recommend this book. It took me over a week to read this book and I usually finish one in 3 or 4 days. Just was not compelled to pick it up and continue reading. The characters were believable enough, but their character was less than admirable. Did not like the ending, to many things left unsaid. Would say more but do not want to insert any spoilers!I will not recommend this book. It took me over a week to read this book and I usually finish one in 3 or 4 days. Will not read another book that involves Dave and Clete. These guys have serious mental issues. I was hoping they had mellowed out some what with getting older, but now they have daughters involved taking lessons from them. Enough, already!

On page 63 and already thinking about jumping ship. Ms. Gardner's writing has gotten more violent the last few books she has written. Will put it aside for a while and reflect on whether I want to try again later. Not a feel good book, and that is what I want right now.On page 63 and already thinking about jumping ship. Most boring book I have ever read. The father, who by the way, did not die in the book, was ailing and needed constant care. Glory and Jack made me weary with their sad lives. The whole book was a downer. The reason I read it? It was the only book in the house and I was trapped inside during an ice and snow storm. Most boring book I have ever read. This book gave me the creeps, bad stuff just kept happening. The mind of a psychopath after revenge, plus a dysfunctional family makes for a good read.

started this book, stopped and started another one and decided to give this one another try. Read the reviews and thought I had to read it, the reviews were mostly 5 stars. Well, I would like to say I totally understood this book but that is not the case. I could not tie George and Lucy to the other two. Not sure I will read this author again.started this book, stopped and started another one and decided to give this one another try. Did not like this book much. I agree about the narrator, she was not very likable. I felt like she was unwilling to move on with her life and wanted others to support her. After she connected with The Kill Club she did start sleuthing some. Not sure about Ben, her brother. He might be better off staying where he is. Could say so much more but it would all be spoilers, so I will refrain.Did not like this book much. I agree about the narrator, she was not very likable. Started out really liking this book, but for me it lost steam midway thru. The mother had control issues to put it mildly and no one in the family seemed to relate to each other. Will, maybe because of his age, was the most damaged. His mother had plenty of practice on his two sisters. Poor kid did not have a chance. The story became bizarre and for me, less believable. Still, a good read.Started out really liking this book, but for me it lost steam midway thru. The mother had control issues to put it mildly and no one in the family seemed to relate to each other. A good read. Had to concentrate to keep up with all the characters. The author had a way of showing how easy it is for teens, especially troubled teens, to fall under the influence of people of authority, such as teachers. Evil lurking in the classrooms is a scary realization. Anyone liking thrillers will enjoy this book.A good read. Had to concentrate to keep up with all the characters. A good read. As it went along I began to feel sorry for the father. He just could not accept his son's confession and kept chasing shadows all the way through the book. He also felt so much guilt because he had not been a big part of his son's life because of divorce. I could feel the father's agony about what was happening to his son and he felt powerless to do anything.A good read. As it went along I began to feel sorry for the father. This is a really good movie, Loved Soames, he had such horrible luck with women. Not his fault of course, but his personally is a bit off putting and he could do with a little bit of humor in his life. His first wife was not a good choice. If a woman (or man) even hints that they have doubt at the onset of marriage better take a step back and give it a lot of thought. I have watched it twice and plan on watching it again in a few years. This is a really good movie, Loved Soames, he had such horrible luck with women. What a neat little book. Highly entertaining. I liked all about the monastery and the renovation of it.

I have never read a book where men were so concerned about their clothes as Barrington was in this boring book. Really, the booze flowed freely and Barrington's need to have a woman available was amusing as well as pathetic. Living in New York City and flying a woman he hardly knew over from Sweden? Or was it Switzerland? Wherever. Book is a piece of fluff.I have never read a book where men were so concerned about their clothes as Barrington was in this boring book. What an interesting book! A great story of a mother who would not give up on her son. Of course, the seed of genius had to be there all along, but the mom felt her son had potential and she pursued that.
a truly good read.

What a sad book. Nothing good happens to this family and it gets worse. The author brought the characters to life but they were not happy people. I liked the last sentence of merlinsdad comment. describes the book beautifully.

I listened to this book on CD. I did not like it. Jake, the main character sounded like a teenage boy who's girlfriend had dumped him. I have read a lot of this author's books but none like this comes to mind. This guy just kept on and on how she was the love of his life, etc, etc. Great, but get on with the story!I listened to this book on CD. I did not like it.
